Introduction
Stress is part of every job—but for the police, it often reaches breaking point. Aware of the serious need to attend to the emotional welfare of police officers, Dr. Tavikumar S. P., a mental health professional of Manasaparsha, conducted a dedicated Stress Management Workshop among police constables of Tumkur District.
Objective of the Workshop
The objective was uncomplicated but essential—to equip officers with tools, methods, and sensitivity to effectively cope with occupational stress. The session emphasized empowering constables with:
- Practical breathing and mindfulness exercises
- Knowledge of emotional management
- Early burnout signs and stress overload recognition
- Effective work-life balance techniques
- Peer support group activities

Why This Matters
Police officers frequently have to deal with high-stress environments, emotional stress, and non-traditional schedules, which can affect mental health substantially. Programs such as these not only decrease the psychological load but also enhance team performance, morale, and quality of community service.
A Step Towards Mental Wellness
This workshop is another step towards Manasaparsha’s continued effort to mainstream mental health discussions in all walks of society—including the ones who work selflessly and protect us daily.
Interactive & Impactful
The workshop was interactive and stimulating, with real-life vignettes, open discussion, and relaxation exercises based on roles. The feedback was extremely positive, with participants showing gratitude for the practical applicability and judgment-free space created in the course of the session.
Closing Thoughts
We thank the Tumkur District Police Department for their gracious cooperation and receptiveness to mental health learning. Manasaparsha is honored to stand with law enforcement officers and continue offering assistance for stress management, emotional wellness, and building resilience.
